Our teaching venues and learning expertise are created to assist students get the most out of their time with us, whether it’s studying live broadcasting techniques, caring for the elderly in their own homes, or analyzing financial markets using real-time data. Staff members and technicians from our specialized facilities are always ready to assist students with using the tools available and to provide technical advice for their coursework and projects. While some of our facilities, including many of our rooms, are open access, allowing students to come in and work whenever they like, other facilities, including several of our meeting rooms, may be reserved in advance.
Fitness and sports facilities: We have one of the top Sport & Exercise Science departments in the UK, as well as top-notch athletic facilities.
Device Loans Library: We’ve spent a lot of money on equipment because we want you to have first-hand experience with the newest technologies. These may be used to test and show off your work. The equipment we keep on hand at the Devices Loans Library is updated every several years, so when you graduate, your skills and knowledge will be current.

Portsmouth has improved significantly from its previous rating of 601–700 in the 2019 universities ranking to 501–600 in the 2021 ARWU (Shanghai rating). In contrast, during the past five years, QS (Top institutions) has consistently ranked Portsmouth in the top 600–650 of all institutions worldwide.
