University of Nottingham Malaysia

Overview:

The University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) is a private institution and a campus of the University of Nottingham that offers students from Malaysia an education that is fully accredited by the UK. In 2000, UNM, the first campus of a British university in Malaysia, welcomed its first students at the request of the Malaysian government. The Malaysia campus, which was established based on decades of experience and knowledge, has consistently received recognition for its academic brilliance on a worldwide scale.

One of Asia’s most fascinating cities, Kuala Lumpur, can be reached from the campus’ location in Semenyih in less than 45 minutes. It is surrounded by picturesque hillside and natural paths and is located among 125 acres of picturesque greenery. Compared to the majority of Malaysian cities, Semenyih, which is multicultural and hospitable, has a reasonable cost of living.

Facilities:

With 5000 students, the campus is a self-sufficient neighborhood community set in a beautiful setting. It blends a first-rate living environment with cutting-edge educational, research, and teaching capabilities. There are a variety of academic resources accessible to students on campus, including the enormous sports complex, a swimming pool, more than 65 clubs and organizations, and the Student’s Association. Other facilities on campus include:

Prayer: For Muslim students, prayer rooms are accessible round-the-clock at the Islamic Center and on the ground level of the computer center. In Semenyih, there is the closest mosque. Students may get there for free on Fridays about midday thanks to a bus service.

Residential Accommodation: All residence halls are conveniently close to the academic buildings, as well as campus amenities including shops, restaurants, and recreation areas that are both indoors and outdoors. Within our 11 resident halls, which have a combined capacity of nearly 2,400 beds, the University offers a variety of accommodation choices to fit the budget. They range from twin-shared to four-shared, with or without air conditioning, to a single ensuite bathroom. For people with certain requirements, we also provide dedicated rooms.

Entertainment: There are plenty of athletic facilities, TV rooms, and gaming rooms on campus. The heart and soul of campus life at UNMC are the 70 clubs and organizations, which include interest groups ranging from scuba diving to fashion to Model UN. They also serve as the primary planners of group events. A local adventure park in the Semenyih region offers thrill-seekers the chance to enjoy ATV racing, ziplining, paintball, and other activities.

Swimming Pool: There is a 25-meter swimming pool at the campus. At the pool area, no running, eating, drinking, or diving is permitted.

Students’ association complex: The organization serving the student body is called the “Student Association,” or “SA” for short. The SA oversees all other clubs and societies that have been created at the institution. Along with overseeing student welfare, the SA also plans a variety of events for the student body. Student activities and leisure are housed at the student association building. The café, a convenience shop, a mobile phone kiosk, a business selling computer equipment, and a hairdresser are all located on the ground level. The SA office, two TV rooms, pool tables, a meeting space for organizations and groups, and a room for doctor consultations are all located on the second level. The SA has WiFi, and on any given day, students may be seen using their computers to browse the internet and other online content inside and outside the SA building.

Library: Excellent library available every day from 9 am to 9 pm at the university. There are three levels in the library, with a reading room on the first, a main desk and borrowing area on the second, and a reading and reference area on the third. Here, students can either use books that are pertinent to their studies or just study quietly in the library. The library also has a computer area for internet research and a fully automated online book reservation system. When you arrive, make sure to attend the library briefing.

Art and performance: The Lakeside Arts Centre is important to Nottingham’s cultural landscape. The university also includes two student theater companies and significant community collaborations.

Cafes & Restaurants: There are options for vegetarians as well as Western, Asian, and Mediterranean cuisine on-campus. The 7-11 convenience shop offers students on the move frozen and fresh food and is available around-the-clock. You might choose to eat fast food in Semenyih town or try some budget-friendly Malaysian cuisine.
