La Trobe University is a public research university that is situated in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The area of Bundoora is home to the institution’s main campus. The institution was founded in 1964, making it the third university in Victoria and the twelfth in all of Australia. The original and main campus of La Trobe is situated in the northern Melbourne district of Bundoora, which is part of the greater Melbourne metropolitan region. The remote Victorian city of Bendigo and the twin border communities of Albury-Wodonga are home to its other two significant campuses.
