A mid-sized multilingual public university in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, Laurentian University (French: Université Laurentienne), also known as Laurentian University of Sudbury, was founded in 1855. Established in 1960, Greater Sudbury’s Laurentian University (Université Laurentienne) is a mid-sized institution with a student body of around 8,000. One of only two bilingual universities in the province of Ontario and the only institution of higher learning in Canada with a tricultural mandate, Laurentian University provides exceptional higher education and research opportunities in both English and French, with a focus on Indigenous education.

  • Food Services: The food services department at Laurentian University is run by a third party. In student housing, they run a grill and full-service Tim Hortons, Subway locations, and a convenience store.

According to US News & World Report’s Global Universities, the Laurentian University is rated 148 in the US for 2021. Prior to that, in 2019 and 2020, it was rated 1266. In addition to other rating factors, the US News & World Report bases its rankings on the number of publications cited, global research reputation, and regional research reputation (12.5% each).
